Directory Entry:

To ensure that the language, culture, community, diversity and heritage of Deaf people in the UK is respected and fully protected, ensuring that they can participate and contribute as equal and valued citizens in the wider society. This will be achieved through: Improving the quality of life by empowering Deaf individuals and groups; enhancing freedom, equality and diversity; and Protecting and promoting BSL. We aim to set up forums so that your services can meet you and you can say what you think about your services. We do not provide services so we are impartial - we facilitate many forums to make sure that both sides learn from them. Our work is mainly focused on local authorities and health boards. Sometimes we also work with local police services.
