Alzheimer's Society helps to support people with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, their families and carers by providing emotional and social support, providing information and advice, and raising the awareness of the need for services. Alzheimer's Disease is the most common form of dementia that effects over 700,000 people in the UK. In Leicestershire and Rutland there are over 11000 people with dementia. Alzheimer's Society in Leicestershire and Rutland provides a befriending service, dementia support service, carer support groups and dementia cafes
