Following a number of successful democracy events, we are now at a stage in which to begin the creation of a group which will allow young people direct involvement into decision making and community development. Participation in social action offers young people a wide range of tangible benefits and should be accessible to all. We aim to strengthen intergenerational relationships in and around Hinckley and Bosworth and increasing community engagement is the very reason community groups such as the HBVF exist, and the involvement of young people is crucial to the future of our communities. It is vital that young people are encouraged to engage in their local community and with our support, we aim to offer those aged 13-19 many opportunities including volunteering, potential employment possibilities, and help young people to become active citizens. Many topics which directly influence young people in the Borough will be discussed - these include mental health, self image, tackling prejudice as well as community development and political education. These decisions can greatly affect your life, and you can help shape them!
